Hi, fellows! How are you?
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to skip next week's post, it's unavoidable. I will be back in two weeks, though, so you can look forward to that.
In the meantime I heard that a judge unsealed the records pertaining to Justin Smollett who, back in February, made a blood libel declaration against all white people in Chicago, alleging that among white people in this city there were some who would single out a man for his African American color and physically beat him. As you remember, there was no corroborating evidence for Mr. Smollett's blood libel, but there was evidence that his two Nigerian workout coaches purchased rope and red hats and rehearsed pretending to beat up Mr. Smith in return for a check for $3,000.
Despite (or perhaps because) the facts that existing evidence showed that this was an intentional blood libel, Chicago Prosecutor Kim Foxx dropped all 16 charges against Mr. Smollett, saying that he'd given the city of Chicago $10,000 and also he spent 8 hours at Jesse Jackson's radio station talking to fans and so that counted as public service. Kim Foxx also said dropping all charges was completely normal and happened all the time in cases like these.
I think Foxx dropped the charges because Smollett is from a well-established acting family in Hollywood and also has social cachet with the family of our nation's second black president, so giving Smollett a "break" would ensure Mrs. Foxx would get invitations to both Hollywood parties and also Washington DC parties.
Anyway I learned a judge unsealed the criminal charges against Smollett, but I have serious doubts that anything resembling justice will occur. Smollett is too valuable to the Hollywood crowd and the DC crowd to go to prison. Also, according to the Hollywood and DC crowds, the "deeper truth" is that all white people in America would gladly assault a black person and drape clothesline around his neck. So having him walk around freely is a reminder that America is full of racism and black people don't need to make up hate crimes at all whatsoever.
Okay that's enough of that, sorry. I've been in a weird mood all day. Please enjoy this week's post and I'll see you in 14 days or so. Thanks for visiting!
