William Blake Comic Book: A Memorable Fancy Comic pg 4

Hi, fellows! Thank you for visiting my page!

At this moment my region of the world is several hours away from hurricane Dorian. Maybe 50 hours away. This is my first hurricane so there are some jitters. At least it's not the 1800s and perhaps an hour's warning would be all we would have. No electricity, either. Or air conditioning. Or dentistry.

There may be some power outages in this side of the state, and if next week's post is delayed the hurricane may be responsible for it.

In this week's page I'll note that there are some of William Blake's "Proverbs of Hell" that may apply to the imagery we see in this week's page:

The first is

The rat, the mouse, the fox, the rabbit: watch the roots
the lion, the tyger, the horse, the elephant, watch the fruits.

And the second is

One thought, fills immensity.

Thanks for visiting! Have a good week!

Comic transcript

You're reading a page from a comic book entitled William Blake, Man of Action!! It's based on William Blake's poem "A Memorable Fancy" from his larger work "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell". I'll be posting a page a week, and the first page of A Memorable Fancy is here. Alternately , you can check out the archive to jump to different pages. Please leave a comment if you like it, or don't!

So William Blake is following the angel down into the cave. He thinks to himself "Down the winding cavern we groped our tedious way till a void as boundless as a nether sky appeared beneath us, and we held by the roots of trees and hung over this immensity."
