The 3 Daughters of King Coluath O'Hara - Page 3

Short shrift this week, I just got back from a 2,000 mile car ride. Thanks for visiting!

This week, I look at the scanned version of stuff I did in 2004, and yeah, i don't like how the horses turned out on this page. I stuck some computer zipatone on them and they don't look like black horses, they just look like horses with dots on them. Maybe i can fix this.. i'll think about it.

Also, the second daughter, right, she has four black horses, while the eldest daughter has two black and two white. My thinking here is that the eldest daughter was half right and half wrong in her choice of using the witching cloak to get the best man for her self. The second daughter, since she just picked the next best man, she got four black horses. This suggests, to me, that the second daughter isn't right at all in her choice, she's just copying her older sister as best as she can and it will result in no good at all.

See you guys next week!

Comic transcript

You're reading a page from a comic book based on the ancient Irish Myth the Three daughters of King Coluath O'hara. The translation and story was from Jeremiah Curtin's book Irish Myths and Fairy Tales but don't go and spoil the comic by reading it. I'll be posting a page a week, and the first page is here. Please let me know in the comments if you want to buy a copy and end the suspense, and if enough people want it then hey I'll publish it. Thanks!

The second daughter takes up the magic cloak. The narrator says "When the second daughter saw what happened to her sister, she put on the cloak of darkness, and wished for the next best man in the world as a husband."

"She put off the cloak."

"And straightway there came, in a golden coach with four black horses, a man nearly as good as the first, and took her away."
